International Women’s Day will be celebrated with a continental breakfast and networking opportunities at the Earl Cameron Theatre at City Hall this year.

Organised by the International Women’s Day Bermuda Committee and the Women’s Resource Centre, the event will be hosted on March 8 by IWD’s 2023 Woman of the Year, Patrina O’Connor-Paynter.

“Our goal is to celebrate the achievements of women, inspire inclusion and advocate for equality,” said Juanae Crockwell, the executive director of the Women’s Resource Centre and IWD committee chair.

“By fostering a sense of belonging, we empower women to be catalysts of change, illuminating the path towards a more inclusive world.”

This year’s event, globally themed as Inspire Inclusion, will feature TEDx-style speeches by Hazel Clarke, director of global sales and business development at Bermuda Tourism Authority, Tiffany Paynter, poet, educator and executive director of OutBermuda, and Kristin White, a writer, entrepreneur and community activist.

The event is from 8am to 10am.

A continental breakfast and networking opportunities will take place on the City Hall lawn from 8am to 8.30am. During the networking segment, attendees can listen to celebratory music and take photographs. Afterwards, the main event will occur in the Earl Cameron Theatre.

Tickets are $35 per person and can be purchased on the WRC’s events page, www.wrcbermuda.com/events.

Organisers said that sponsorship opportunities are available for this event.
