Two public town hall meetings have been scheduled for this month on “a number of proposed affordable housing development projects”, the Ministry of Housing and Municipalities announced.

Presentations will be given on affordable residential schemes, with feedback sought from attendees as well as question-and-answer sessions.

Zane DeSilva, the minister, said that tackling the island’s housing shortage would require community engagement “to increase access to quality, affordable housing”.

Ministry representatives and technical officers will provide an overview, including the purpose and objectives of each project, with proposed site plans and development features.

Attendees will hear about project timelines and anticipated next steps, and have an opportunity to pose questions and raise concerns.

Both meetings will run from 6.30pm to 8pm, with the first set for Thursday at the Open Door Christian Assembly at 22 Tommy Fox Road in St David’s.

It will focus on the Tommy Fox Road and Channel House developments.

The second, on June 16 at Mount Zion AME Church Hall at 2 Mount Zion Lane, Southampton, will highlight developments at Victoria Place II, Dr Cann Park II and Albert Row.
