Trash collections delayed next week

Garbage collection will be delayed by one day throughout next week owing to National Heroes Day.

The Ministry of Public Works and Environment stated that trash collection will follow a “roll-over” schedule, starting with Monday’s waste being collected on Tuesday and concluding with waste normally collected on Friday being picked up on Saturday.

The Corporation of Hamilton advised that garbage in the city will be collected as normal on Saturday and Tuesday, only waste from restaurants and bars will be picked up on Sunday and nothing will be collected on Heroes Day.

The city added that kitchen oils will not be collected until Tuesday and urged residents and businesses not to place garbage out unless a collection is scheduled.

The holiday will not affect the recycling schedule and members of the public can drop off household, hazardous and other types of waste at the Tynes Bay facility from 7am to 7pm seven days a week.

Visit gov.bm/waste for the 2026 garbage and recycling calendar and a list of which trash goes where.
