Future Leaders appoints new executive director
The assistant director of youth charity Future Leaders Bermuda and one of its earliest graduates has been appointed as its executive director.
McKenzie‑Kohl Tuckett replaces the organisation’s founder, Ryan Robinson Perinchief, who was appointed by the Government as the Minister of National Security and a senator last week.
Ms Tuckett participated in the Future Leaders flagship summer programme in 2018.
Soon after being inducted, she began serving as youth director with responsibilities ranging from programme management to facilitation.
In January 2025, she was promoted to assistant director which allowed her to continue expanding her leadership skills while co-leading the delivery of the summer programme.
She has also been developing soon-to-be-announced opportunities and initiatives.
Ms Tuckett said: “Future Leaders Bermuda shaped me as a young person and it is an honour to now lead the organisation that helped define my path.
“I am committed to building on our foundation, expanding opportunities for youth empowerment and ensuring that every young person in Bermuda feels seen, supported and inspired to lead.”
Mr Robinson Perinchief, who launched Future Leaders in 2017, will remain with the organisation as the chairman of the board of trustees.
He said: “Future Leaders Bermuda has always been about investing in young people and strengthening our community.
“McKenzie‑Kohl represents the very best of what the programme was designed to cultivate.
“As the founder, stepping down as executive director and passing the baton is the ultimate validation of our mission.
“I am proud that we were able to promote from within — a deliberate reflection of our board’s commitment to trust the next generation to step up, take ownership and shape the future they are meant to inherit.
“I am proud to support McKenzie-Kohl’s appointment and look forward to seeing the organisation continue to thrive under her leadership.”
A spokeswoman for the charity congratulated Ms Tuckett and Mr Robinson Perinchief on their new roles, adding: “Their continued leadership, in different but complementary spheres, reflects the enduring impact of Future Leaders Bermuda and its commitment to building a stronger and more engaged society.”
