Smoke from a fire near Sally Port in Dockyard on Monday night could be seen from miles away.
It is not known when the West End blaze first started or what exactly was burnt, but crews from three trucks were still working past 9.30pm to quell the flames.
A member of the public, who wished to remain anonymous, attended the area soon after someone sent him a video of the incident that he called a “trash fire”.
He said: “I rushed over here and I’ve been here ten minutes. Another guy who just left was here for 20 minutes”.
A team of eight firefighters quelled another fire on the other side of Sally Port in June.
