The Centre Against Abuse has unveiled its new board of directors as the charity works to expand its impact and support survivors of abuse across the island.

The CAA announced that Tammy Gibbons will chair the executive board, replacing Lorna Dixon-Marable, while Ms Dixon’s co-chair, Damon Wade, will serve as vice-chair.

Rochelle Forde and Aminah Simmons will join the charity’s directors, who include Ms Dixon-Marable, Kristin Burt, Julie Hendrickson, Marisa Sharpe, Donnisha Simmons and Carlene Spencer-Darrell.

A spokeswoman said: “For more than 40 years, Centre Against Abuse has been at the forefront of providing confidential counselling, advocacy, education, prevention programmes and community outreach for adults affected by intimate-partner abuse and sexual violence.

“Through compassionate support and collaborative partnerships, CAA continues to work towards a Bermuda where every person can live free from abuse, violence and fear.

“The newly appointed board will provide strategic oversight and governance as the organisation continues to enhance its programmes, deepen community partnerships, strengthen financial sustainability, and respond to the evolving needs of survivors and their families.”
