Members of the Royal Bermuda Regiment Coastguard have found and recovered what appeared to be a badly damaged vessel from the island’s territorial waters.
An RBR spokesman said soldiers are investigating circumstances surrounding the vessel, which is at the coastguard headquarters in the West End, and how it was damaged.
They are unable to provide further information until the investigation is complete.
The spokesman said: “The vessel is being retained while the investigation is conducted.
“Any decision regarding its final disposition will be made once the investigative process has been completed and any relevant evidential requirements have been satisfied.”
