Fundraising campaign hits $40,000

Annual fundraiser: the Bermuda Mental Health Foundation is hosting a 5K walk and wellness fair (Image supplied)

A charity encouraged residents to build on momentum and help to reach a $50,000 fundraising target in support of mental wellness initiatives in Bermuda.

The Bermuda Mental Health Foundation called on businesses, organisations, community groups and individuals to help carry its Steps to Mental Wellness campaign across the finish line on World Mental Health Day this month.

All are welcome to attend the BMHF’s fourth annual Steps to Mental Wellness 5K Walk and second annual Wellness Fair on October 10 at the Camden House lawn in the Botanical Gardens.

Check-in is at 7.30am, while the events begin an hour later.

The BMHF has raised more than $40,000 towards its $50,000 goal.

Funds raised will support the foundation’s work to advance mental wellness in Bermuda, including its residential housing programme.

The BMHF has four homes accommodating 25 residents and is working towards providing residential facilities for 50 people.

The 5K walk will serve as the finale of Bermuda’s Mental Health Awareness Week.
