Proposals sought for food vendors in Hamilton
Hamilton is inviting submissions from residents for new food concessions in the city.
Vendor locations are available at Queen Elizabeth Park, the northwest end of Wesley Square, Laffan Street and the west side of the Bermuda Marquee sign on Front Street under a request for proposals issued today.
The plan falls under the City’s Food Concession Programme to enhance the vibrancy of Hamilton and cater to the working public.
Renée DeShields, venue and rentals co-ordinator, said: “The City will consider proposals on a case-by-case basis, and will only consider food concessions that do not directly compete with any existing businesses in the surrounding areas of the eligible locations.
“The food concession must provide an added value to the area in terms of diversity of available options, vibrancy, customer experience and aesthetics.”
The initial lease will last for one year from January 1 through to December 31, 2027.
The rent for all food concession facilities is $1,050 per quarter, due one week before the start of the quarter.
In addition to the monthly rent, operators will be responsible for all utility charges and will be billed directly by the respective utility provider.
For additional space beyond the designated rental area, such as seating areas or parking space, a flat fee of $500 a year will be charged and paid in full at the start of the lease term.
For operators wishing to install external furniture that will occupy additional space, a visual representation of the furniture must be included in the initial proposal and must be approved by the City with written consent before installation.
An additional fee will be added for the use of space and storage for external furniture.
Successful applicants will notified no later than December 7, with operations expected to commence in the first quarter of 2027.
