Community invited to animal charity fundraiser
An annual fundraiser in aid of an animal protection charity will take place at the Botanical Gardens on Sunday.
Bermuda SPCA’s Paws to the Park promises a fun morning for families, dog owners and animal lovers.
Starting at 9am, the event is set to feature a Hallowe’en-themed costume contest and the Great Pumpkin Paw-Suit Scavenger Hunt.
“Paws to the Park is about bringing our community together to celebrate our love of animals while supporting an important cause,” said April Augustus, executive director of the Bermuda SPCA.
“It's a wonderful opportunity to enjoy time with our pets, connect with fellow animal lovers, and make a difference for animals across the island.”
Last year, the Bermuda SPCA helped 86 animals find loving homes, provided 37 DogSnip and 69 CatSnip vouchers, and supported 51 families through its Pet Food Assistance Programme.
Funds raised through Paws to the Park help support this important work, providing care for animals at the shelter while assisting pets and families throughout Bermuda.
The community is encouraged to bring their dogs and enjoy a morning with fellow animal lovers while supporting animal welfare across Bermuda.
Costumes are welcome but not required. Pet owners choosing to dress their dogs are reminded to ensure costumes are comfortable, safe and do not restrict movement, breathing, or vision.
Registration is $25 and includes a goody bag. Advance registration is encouraged to avoid lines, although registration will also be available on the day.
