The City of Hamilton is launching the festive season on November 27 with an outdoor Christmas film alongside the traditional tree lighting, live entertainment and family fun.

The free event, Rockin’ Around the City Tree, will run from 6.30pm to 9pm, with the island’s tallest Christmas tree illuminated at 7pm on the lawn of City Hall, and the showing of Jingle All the Way at 7.30pm — with families encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs.

It will be preceded by entertainment from the West End Primary School Choir, saxophonist Shawn Herman, Somersfield Academy steel pan group and a solo performance by city councillor Lloyd Holder.

Santa Claus will also make his first official appearance, posing for professional pictures with families that will come with a printed keepsake.

Guests can warm up with complimentary hot chocolate courtesy of Ashley’s Lemonade.

The city is partnering with the charity Tomorrow’s Voices, which will sell toys and popcorn, with proceeds supporting its work, including the Bermuda Autism Early Intervention Centre.
