Winter League netball registration set to begin
The Bermuda Netball Association will begin team registration tomorrow for the Winter Netball League, which is set to start on November 6 at Bernard Park.
Registration will run until September 29 for senior teams and until October 6 for junior teams. New and returning teams are urged to contact the BNA for registration details. Team fees are $300 for senior teams and $150 for junior teams while player fees are $30 for seniors and $15 for juniors.
“Any new players looking for a team should also reach out to the BNA so that we may connect them with team coaches,” the association said.
“The BNA has senior and junior teams that welcome new players. E-mail inquiries to firstname.lastname@example.org.”
The BNA conducted Level I and Level II coaching courses this year, recognised by both the governing bodies of the BNA, the Americas Federation of Netball Associations and the International Netball Federation.
The courses were led by Bridget Adams, who is the head coach of netball at the University of Trinidad & Tobago, chairwoman of the AFNA coaching committee and also a member of the INF coaches’ advisory panel.
The 12 participants who completed the course requirements were:
Level I: Antionay Tankard, Chanae Burgess, Darrika Simons, Jessica Cassidy, Laura Faulker, Stacia Ming.
Level II: Angela Edwards, Anthony Mouchette, Danielle Raynor, Erika Russell, Kimale Evans, Tahkeesha Welch.
Seven participants also passed the AFNA Level C Umpire Award Theory Course this year after a completing a seven-week umpire training programme. Practical assessment plans are under way and AFNA will be facilitating practical training and assessments virtually this autumn.
The following participants passed the course and will move on to the next phase of practical assessments: Danielle Raynor, Debré Evans, Erika Russell, Patricia Woolridge, Salayah Stange, Stacia Ming, Stacy Babb.
