Bernard Park was the place to be for netball fans on Saturday as the Bermuda Alumnae Chapter (BAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority held their inaugural Delta Netfest tournament and health festival.

The competition, which showcased Bermuda's best netballers at under-14 and under-17 level was keenly contested and well attended.

Some players in the 14 and under division were as young as 10, but age was just a number as they showcased talent beyond their years. The round-robin format allowed teams to play multiple matches in a high intensity and competitive environment.

Phoenix Embers showed their dominance in all areas of the court, and went undefeated to ultimately be crowned the winners.

The winners of the U17 tournament were North Village Lady Rams, who also went undefeated after an amazingly technical display of netball to dominate from start to finish.

It was fitting that their last match of the day would see them pitted against Storm, the tournament runners-up in a see-saw battle of who wanted it more. With the score tied at 3-3 at half time, Village changed gears in the second half maintaining possession and capitalising on any errors made by Storm to run out 6-4 winners.
