Pickleball Commercial League pilot programme hailed a major success

Pickleball is set for huge growth next year after the staging of the inaugural Commercial League laid the foundations for a bright future.

A total of 123 players, within 14 teams took part in the competition, which was run as a pilot programme, ahead of a full launch in May of next year.

Sarah Fox, the league’s co-organiser, hailed the success of the programme and spoke of her excitement for future growth moving forward.

“The league was a resounding success, not only in terms of sportsmanship but also in promoting team building, camaraderie,” she said. “We look forward to starting again in May 2024, with a bigger and better event.”

Top position in Division One went to The Rallying Stones with 86 points followed by Conduit Re with 67 points and Chubb with 57 points.

The Division Two honours went to Fidelis Wiffle Wanderers with 71 points, followed by Bacardi’s team, Do What Moves You, with 56 points with Chubb, a close third with 55 points.

“Each of these teams showcased unwavering dedication, skill, and a true competitive spirit, making the league a thrilling spectacle for all involved,’’ said Danny Fox, a representative of the Pickleball Association of Bermuda board.
