Trott twins star again as Tigers edge past Storm

Unbeaten: Lindo's Tigers picked up their second win in the Netball League (Photograph supplied)

The Trott twins stole the show yet again for Lindo’s Tigers as Jahtuere and Jahkenya scored all the goals to give their team a second win of the season in the Netball League at Bernard Park on Tuesday.

With roles reversed from last week’s 52-18 win over Docksiders, Jahtuere led the way this time around with 26 goals, while her sister chipped in with six in a 32-27 victory over Storm.

Storm led 8-7 in the first quarter before the Tigers surged to an 18-12 win in the second 15 minutes. The Tigers maintained their dominance at 23-19 in the third phase, and went on to close it out in the fourth quarter, with only five goals separating the two teams in the end.

Diara Benjamin was voted MVP for the Tigers. The best attacker was Kaylee Lema, while the most outstanding defender’s accolade went to Demiqua Daniels.

For Storm, who had Debre' Evans voted MVP, their goals came from Nabillah Nasir (12) best attacker Zakiyah Durham (8), Amara Richards (6).

Tigers coach Anthony Mouchette felt that his players were not as attentive as they should have been.

“We had a slow start,’’ Mouchette said. “We had to make tactical changes at the start of second quarter, which gave us a half-time lead. We lost a bit of focus in the third quarter with wayward passes but recovered in the fourth to finish the game strong.”
