William Haddrell extended his lead to a commanding 12 shots in the second round of the Bermuda Amateur Strokeplay Championships at Port Royal yesterday.After a wet and windy morning, Haddrell fired an impressive one-over-par 72 to add to his first round of 75 — the best rounds of the tournament so far — for a 36-hole total of 147.Chris Brough, one of only two other players to break 80, shot 77 to move into second place on 159. Adam Mattatall (81) and Cory DeSilva (80) shared third on 161.In the small women’s field — just six players — Ebonie Burgess extended her lead to 10 strokes. She followed her first round of 87 with a 84 for a total of 171.Elizabeth Parsons carded a 92 (181) and Tracy Nash a 97 (181) to lie second and third respectively.In the first round of the Seniors Strokeplay Championships, also being played in Port Royal, Jeffrey Lindo carded a seven-over-par 78. He was followed by Steve Hickmott (85) and Sandy White (88).Kathryn Lloyd-Hines returned a score of 88 to lead the Ladies’ Senior tournament.
