Bermuda up to 48th in Ireland

Bermuda moved up two places in the World Amateur Team Championships in Maynooth, Ireland, yesterday, apparently taking more of a liking to the O'Meara course with their best score of three-under-par 143.

On the same course where they shot a 144 on Wednesday, the Bermuda trio of Jarryd Dillas, Walker Campbell and Mikus Ming had a good round to move into a tie for 48th place. Dillas carded a two-under 71, his best round so far, while Campbell shot 72 to match his opening-round score on the same course. Ming had a 79, with the best two scores counting.

That gives Bermuda a three-round score of 442, tied with Morocco, who slipped several places after a round of 150.

At the other end of the table, New Zealand lead by three strokes over Spain, United States and Thailand, after their round of 134 on the Montgomerie course gave them an overall score of 404. Italy and Denmark are a further stroke back on 408 with one round remaining today.

Bermuda will be back on the Montgomerie course, where they shot a round of 155 on Thursday. Seventy-two teams are competing.

Scoring round: Walker Campbell returned a 72 yesterday
