The final round of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship has failed to start on time because of high winds.

Organisers of the tournament brought forward the tee times to early on Sunday in the hope of beating the worst of the windy conditions but that move has failed to pay off and an unspecified delay is now in place.

In a statement the PGA Tour said the course remains closed with conditions being monitored

“Due to current weather conditions, final round tee times for the Butterfield Bermuda Championship on Sunday, October 25, have been delayed,” the statement read.

“Port Royal Golf Course remains closed at this time. The PGA Tour and tournament officials are continuing to monitor conditions and the next update will be provided at 9am.”
