Brown Family Scholarship handed out

Chioma Nwasike is the 2016 recipient of the Brown Family Scholarship, receiving $5,000 towards her studies.

Established by Ewart Brown, the former premier, his sister Emelita Johnson and his niece Kim Robinson, the fund is for Bermudians studying health sciences, dentistry, nursing and medicine at Howard University, Dr Brown's alma mater.

Ms Nwasike is a former head girl of the Berkeley Institute and a graduate of Dalhousie University. She has a degree in biology and will attend Howard's school of medicine in the autumn.
