HSBC Somerset branch closed

The novel coronavirus

The Somerset branch of HSBC has closed “following a possible exposure to Covid-19”.

A statement released by the bank said the decision was made “out of an abundance of caution”.

“The bank is following all Bermuda Government Covid-19 protocols and these will guide the decision about when the branch is reopened,” the statement said, adding that the branch will most likely remain closed for the rest of this week.

All other branches of the bank remain open.

“We regret any inconvenience this decision may cause our customers,” the statement said.

“HSBC is committed to ensuring the continued safety of our employees, customers and the wider Bermuda community.”
