A traffic jam at TCD caused by people queuing to use the pop-up Covid test centre has been resolved, police said this evening.

Earlier, police were urging people to avoid North Street, Parsons Road, Dutton Avenue, Marsh Folly Road areas as traffic was backed up as people got a Covid-19 test.

However, just after 7pm this evening, the spokesman confirmed that the congestion “has since resolved itself”.

The spokesman said: “Please note that earlier traffic congestion in the TCD area has since resolved itself.

“The Bermuda Police Service thanks motorists in the area for their understanding.”

A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health was unable to confirm if the pop-up test centre had had to turn people away as a result of high demand.

Some people had commented on social media that they had been turned away.
