Clinic out of PCR tests after supply chain breakdown

A clinic has run out of PCR tests because of a breakdown in the supply chain.

The Northshore Medical and Aesthetics Centre said that it could still perform antigen tests but that PCR tests had been stopped until fresh test kits were available.

A spokeswoman for the North Shore Road, Devonshire clinic said: “Due to the global supply-chain shortages, increased demand and bad weather, we are not able to offer any more PCR testing.

“Unfortunately we may have to cancel some clients due to this shortage.”

She added: “We currently do not have an estimated time of arrival as to when we will be back in stock but we will update the public as soon as we know more. Our teams are working hard to remedy.

“We apologise for the situation and encourage you to consider our antigen testing options at this time.

But the spokeswoman said: “We are excited that Bermuda and the world are being more inclusive of antigen testing from certified labs like Northshore Medical.”

Antigen tests can be booked on the centre’s website.
