One more person has died from Covid-19, bringing the total death toll in Bermuda to 160, according to the latest government update published last night.

There are now seven active cases of the coronavirus, up by two from the last update. There is one person in hospital after a spell of no hospital cases, and no one is in the ICU.

Bermuda has now had 18,799 confirmed cases, including those who died, and there have been 18,632 recoveries.

With the majority of testing now taking place at home and going unreported, the Ministry of Health has acknowledged that a true picture of Covid-19 cases could not be known.

However, the number of hospital cases can act as a barometer for the extent of the virus’s spread and its severity.
