The Department of Health will mark the end of Breastfeeding Awareness Week 2026 this weekend with a community event at Victoria Park.

The free event, scheduled to run from 9am to 11.30am tomorrow, will offer attendees educational mini-sessions, wellness activities, vendors, giveaways and the opportunity to connect with breastfeeding support services.

The event will also feature a used-breast-pump donation drive, accepting items including Spectra pumps, Medela Symphony pumps, manual pumps, flanges and collection bottles.

Kim Wilson, the Minister of Health, said: “Breastfeeding is one of the most meaningful investments we can make in the health and wellbeing of our children, and no parent should feel they are navigating that journey alone.

“Whether you are a new parent, a grandparent, a supporter or simply someone who cares about the wellbeing of our families, you are welcome.

“When we show up for one another, we strengthen the foundation of health for generations to come.”
