The Ministry of Health highlighted the importance of breastfeeding last week with a series of educational community-building events as part of Breastfeeding Awareness Week.

The activities, organised by the Bermuda National Breastfeeding Committee and the Department of Health, included a documentary screening and a panel discussion, culminating with a community event at Victoria Park on Saturday.

Kim Wilson, the Minister of Health, joined families, volunteers and healthcare teams at the event, which featured movement activities, engagement stations and opportunities for parents to connect with lactation support services.

Ms Wilson said: “Breastfeeding is one of the most meaningful investments we can make in the health and wellbeing of our children, and no parent should feel they are navigating that journey alone.

“This week reminds us that when we show up for one another, we strengthen the foundation of health for generations to come.”
