Retailers have been instructed to immediately remove several products from the shelves which the Ministry of Health said pose contamination risks to consumers.

The include the one-litre size Waitrose Essential Unsweetened Oat Drink which is being recalled due to microbiological contamination and spoilage which may cause the drink to appear off-colour, off-odour, or unsafe for consumption.

The product carries an expiry date of October 29, 2026.

The MOMA Porridge and Cereal branded products, which expire on March 12, 2027, are being recalled due to potential contamination by mice, which presents a serious food safety hazard.

Consumers who purchased any of the affected products are urged to package the items securely and return them to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.

A spokeswoman said the ministry is monitoring the situation closely.

It is also working with importers and retailers to ensure that contaminated products are removed from circulation.

The ministry will provide updates where necessary, the spokeswoman said.
