‘Team Canada’ wins BBQ Throwdown

The winners of Sunday’s BBQ Throwdown took home $500 in prizes, with Mac McGuinty and ‘Team Canada’ taking $250 and the overall top place for best steak and best ribs.Event organiser Selena Minors estimated about 325 turned out for the day-long barbecue fest along Ferry Reach in St George’s.Cain Burchall came in second, winning $150 for the best picnic plate, while the peoples’ choice award of $100 went to the Pantry’s Pantry team.Ms Minors said the team Proud to be Bermudian was also voted best for barbecue chicken.
