Hundreds of fund managers and investors will descend on the Fairmont Southampton this week for the third holding of the Global Fund Forum.

The event brings together those who manage money and those who are looking to get a return from their capital for three days of panel discussions, networking events and private meetings.

A cocktail reception this evening and speeches by Ed Viesturs, the legendary American mountaineer, and Ryan Oaks, a motivational speaker, will precede social events.

The more serious business gets under way tomorrow morning when Michael Dunkley, the Premier, will make welcome remarks, before Joseph McAlinden, the founder and chairman of Catalpa Capital Advisors, gives a global economic update ahead of an investor panel.

Afternoon panels will discuss topics including the next big trade in credit, an overview of insurance-linked securities, finding alpha in 2017 and water, the most valuable asset we have.

The event closes on Wednesday with a series of “table talks” in which experts will give advice on key topics in the funds industry.
