A former executive at Kmart Corporation and Sears Holdings Corporation is joining the board of Bermudian-based container company Triton International Ltd.

Karen Austin was previously the chief information officer of PG&E Corporation for seven years until October 2018. She also served on the board of directors for Verifone Systems until august this year.

Brian Sondey, chairman and chief executive officer of Triton, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Karen to Triton’s board of directors. Karen will bring outstanding executive level leadership and board experience to Triton, and her deep technology, supply chain and cybersecurity expertise will be particularly valuable given the growing importance of technology in our industry.”

Ms Smith’s appointment to the board will be effective from January 1.

Triton is the world’s largest lesser of intermodal freight containers.
