John McElroy to join Aon Reinsurance Solutions

John McElroy is to join the Bermuda office of Aon Reinsurance Solutions as head of casualty.

The company said Mr McElroy will report to Tony Fox, chairman and chief executive officer, Bermuda, of Reinsurance Solutions.

Aon said the appointment is subject to the approval of the Bermuda Department of Immigration.

The company said Mr McElroy brings 30 years of industry experience to the role.

He previously held several positions at Allied World Assurance Company, most recently as executive vice-president, global insurance. He also served at Gulf Insurance Company as senior vice-president and head of its management liability department.

Mr Fox said: “John brings with him an impressive amount of experience in the casualty sector, and we believe this will be important in helping our clients to navigate the evolving exposures in this area.”

Andy Marcell, CEO of Reinsurance Solutions, added: “Welcoming John to our Bermuda team represents one of a number of steps we are taking to assess and mitigate existing and emerging casualty exposures on behalf of our clients. We are committed to Bermuda and the casualty markets, and are deploying capabilities that reflect their importance to our clients’ businesses.”
