Valaris announces drillship contract award

Bermuda-based Valaris Limited, the offshore drilling services company, has been awarded a contract with Petrobras offshore Brazil for the drillship Valaris DS-4.

The company said that the contract is for a minimum term of 548 days, and it is anticipated that it will start by the second quarter next year.

Valaris said that the rig is currently preservation stacked in the United Kingdom and will transit to the Canary Islands, where it will be reactivated and then mobilised to Brazil.
