Best briefing on expanding ILS use

AM Best is to hold a free analytical briefing on the expanding non-catastrophe insurance-linked securities market.

The briefing is on Tuesday, June 21 at 11am Bermuda time.

The ratings agency said prominent reinsurers and specialist underwriters increasingly have been facilitating transactions to help investors achieve their diversification goals and tap new insurance-linked returns.

As the non-catastrophe ILS market expands, AM Best said, it has observed heightened interest for these types of transactions; specifically, ones that involve the transfer of casualty and liability insurance risks to capital market investors in a securitised format.

The one-hour event will discuss how AM Best views the risks involved in these transactions from a ratings perspective.

The panellists for the event are Elliott Kroll, partner, ArentFox Schiff LLP, as well as three representatives of AM Best – managing director Emmanuel Modu, and senior directors Thomas Mount and Wai Tang.

To register, see http://www.ambest.com/conferences/ILS22/index.html.

Attendees can submit questions during registration or by e-mailing webinars@ambest.com.

The event will be streamed in video and audio formats, and playback will be available to registered viewers shortly after the event.
