Apex Group Ltd, the Bermudian-based global financial services provider, has expanded its presence in the Nordics region with the launch of new services delivered from its office in Sweden.

The company said it will offer its single-source solution to clients in the region with local experts providing an expanded range of services to Sweden domiciled funds.

Apex will also support local clients to manage the fast-growing number of funds domiciled in other global financial jurisdictions such as Luxembourg and Ireland.

The company said it will continue to evolve its offering to clients in the Nordic region, including its intention to establish management company and fund distribution services in Sweden via subsidiary FundRock.

This latest announcement follows Apex’s transformative acquisition of Sanne Group Plc, which added more than 35 existing employees in Sweden and an office in Denmark.

In addition to Sanne’s existing presence in Sweden, Apex said it aims to hire up to 65 new employees locally in Stockholm to deliver its single-source solution to a global client base of asset managers, capital markets investors, private clients and family offices.

Apex Group in Sweden will be led by Amanda Ekman, country head, Sweden, who brings more than 20 years of experience in the private markets.

She was previously CFO of BrainHeart Capital and held various senior roles at Skandia’s Asset Management Private Equity, RP Ventures and Permian.

Peter Hughes, founder and CEO of Apex Group

Peter Hughes, founder and CEO of Apex Group, said: “We have identified Sweden and the wider Scandinavian region as a strategically important market for our clients’ growth, and therefore Apex Group.

“By growing our presence and service offering in Sweden, we will be able to better serve our clients, who will benefit from the reach offered by our global footprint, multi-jurisdictional experience and the local delivery of our single-source solution including access to new distribution channels.”

Ms Ekman added: “We see a huge opportunity to provide our services to enable both global clients and the thriving domestic asset management community to concentrate on their core focus of generating returns for their investors.

“We look forward to welcoming new colleagues in Sweden who will deliver the group’s scalable single-source solution through our global reach, underpinned by a commitment to exceptional client service.”
