Bermuda data centre provider QuoVadis has announced the appointment of a new cybersecurity engineer in its expanding infrastructure team.

Jarryd Simmons will drive the execution of QuoVadis’s network pen tests and cybersecurity for the company’s clients.

His appointment comes as cyber attacks are on the rise and organisations are scrambling to combat the risks.

Mr Simmons is a graduate of Bermuda’s Impact Mentoring Academy, where his deep interest in cybersecurity led him to join QuoVadis’s growing team.

Gavin Dent, chief executive officer at QuoVadis, said: “Bermuda is a strategic market with massive potential for growth in cybersecurity services. Network penetration testing is a key service that we are prioritising for many clients whose current infrastructure is incapable of detecting and preventing cloud and application-specific breaches.

“I am excited to have Jarryd as part of my infrastructure team as we expand our cybersecurity offering.”

QuoVadis’s rollout of network penetration testing as a service follows a rise in cyberthreats as AI-powered attacks target enterprise networks and leave many businesses at risk, the company said.

Many organisations lack effective network detection and response capabilities in place to stop an attack in real time.

The company is investing in professionally trained, certified Bermudian-based penetration testers who can perform network penetration testing to improve cybersecurity standards for businesses.

Mr Simmons said: “Cybersecurity is more important now than ever. Already we have helped secure banks and other Bermudian companies and I look forward to building QuoVadis as a data centre hub to serve the Bermuda market demand as well as overseas markets in this exciting area of technological growth.”
