Rip Reeves, appointed chief executive officer of Institutional Investor

A former global chief investment officer of Bermudian-based Argo Group has been appointed chief executive officer of Institutional Investor, the international business to business publisher.

Rip Reeves joins II on July 3 with nearly 40 years of industry experience and has been a trusted partner to II’s institutes for 15 years, the organisation said.

He started his career on the mortgage trading floor at Salomon Brothers in 1985.

Along with Cynthia Steer, Mr Reeves is an emeritus co-chair for the Institutional Investor Institute and the Alternative Investor Institute. Both have been instrumental in driving product realignment for improved quality and growth, II said.

II is focused primarily on international finance. It publishes premium journalism, newsletters and research, and also runs conferences, seminars and training courses and is a provider of electronic business information through its capital market databases and emerging markets information service.
