ATN International Inc, the Massachusetts-based parent company of One Communications and Fireminds, has reported a third quarter net loss attributable to stockholders of $3.6 million.

That compares with a net loss attributable to stockholders of $2.8 million in the year-ago quarter.

The company said the decrease in net income was due primarily to a $5.8 million increase in interest expense partially offset by a $5.4 million increase in operating income.

ATN said consolidated revenues were $191.0 million, up five per cent versus $182.2 million in the year-ago quarter.

Operating income rose to $6.8 million from $1.4 million in the year-ago quarter.

ATN’s international telecom segment, of which One Communications and Fireminds are a part, had operating income of $12.8 million for the quarter, down from $13.36 million in the prior year quarter.

Michael Prior, ATN CEO, said: “As we move closer to the final year of our three-year schedule of investments, we are planning to come down the other side of the investment bell curve, positioning us to start to reap the benefits of our network investments more fully.”
