Compre, the Bermudian-domiciled international legacy group, today announced the formation of a global claims and operations function.

It follows significant growth in a successful 2023 in which it completed four transactions, including its largest yet with SiriusPoint.

The function will be led by Simon Hawkins, CEO Europe, who has been promoted to the newly created role of executive managing director, operations.

Separately, David Presley, CEO North America, who joined Compre in 2022 to build its US presence, has now left the business.

Will Bridger, group CEO, Compre, said: “I am delighted that Simon has agreed to lead our global claims and operations function.

“As we build on our successes of 2023 in our core markets in Europe, the USA and Lloyd’s through the disciplined underwriting of retrospective reinsurance solutions, the new structure will allow us to continue to deliver best in class processing, automation and handling of our portfolios.

“Simon will work closely with Dan Fiehn, COO, in driving automation and new technology through our business over the coming years. My thanks to David for his contribution to Compre. Having built our excellent team in the US, we wish him well for the future.”
