Walkers, the international legal and professional services firm, is celebrating ten years of doing business in Bermuda.

Starting as Taylors in association with Walkers on January 4, 2016, Walkers immediately offered a full-service commercial practice and grew rapidly in the firm's first year.

Walkers quickly earned recognition as one of IFLR’s 'Firms to Watch' in 2018 and has since maintained high rankings in IFLR1000, Chambers and Partners, and Legal 500.

“From inception, we aimed to deliver world-class legal services while fostering local talent here in Bermuda,” said Kevin Taylor, Bermuda office managing partner.

“Ten years later, I am proud of what we have achieved together, building a team that anticipates and meets the needs of our clients. Beyond the work, we've been able to support local students through our scholarship, bursary internship, and training programmes to launch their legal careers.”

Over the years, more than 100 students have benefited from Walkers’ training, mentorship and outreach initiatives, including internships, scholarships and bursaries. In addition, the firm’s structured pupillage programme has supported seven aspiring lawyers in gaining the practical experience needed to qualify and build long-term careers in Bermuda.

Walkers' commitment continues to evolve, with the firm welcoming Bermudian students each summer for hands-on legal experience and, most recently, launching its Executive Assistant training programme this year.

The programme offers rotational placements across practice areas as part of a broader strategy to create diverse career pathways and develop well-rounded professionals within Bermuda.

Ingrid Pierce, Walkers’ global managing partner, shared: “Bermuda plays a vital role in the global financial ecosystem and our colleagues in Bermuda and elsewhere have been instrumental in further strengthening Walkers’ international offering.

“This reflects our commitment to supporting clients with diverse needs across multiple regions and our support of the communities in which we live and work.”

As Walkers celebrates this significant milestone, the firm remains committed to investing in Bermuda’s future through talent development, innovative legal solutions and continued support from the firm's clients.
