Don’t go judging others

September 26, 2011

Dear Sir,

Earlier last week, I was insulted by someone claiming that all Bermudians are lazy (I'll leave that alone as it doesn't make sense even considering how wicked the world is getting more and more these days) and stating that most Portuguese people aren't. Now correct me if I'm wrong but, here's the truth: Work comes in all different colours, nationalities, cultures and backgrounds. Depending on the job, such individuals either want to do such legally or illegally (surprised nobody was poking holes at drug dealers whether they be black, white or mixed).

Now, to say all Bermudians work would be wrong yet, not all Portuguese work either. Some Filipinos, Jamaicans, Canadians, Germans and so on are in that category (if we're all imperfect, who are you to say how one group is?). Heck, even politicians aren't much help these days, so face it, don't complain about other races cause chances are your own probably won't be any better.
