November 4, 2011Dear Sir,As I have mentioned in previous letters regarding the looming general election, the focus and emphasis must be put solely on the disastrous record of the ruling PLP Government over the last 13 years. To point the finger at the OBA and accuse them of being the same old UBP with a different name is simply a smoke screen to cover up from the PLP’s failing of Bermuda.If the PLP simply runs a campaign on there own record and performance they will surely lose. Despite all the past wrongdoings of the UBP, Bermuda was never in the chaotic state that it in today.Bermuda is broke, both financially and in many other ways. We now have unemployment at its highest percentage in our history. Sixteen shooting murders in the past two years! Homelessness and hopelessness are now a common part of our day to day living. Tourism is still in decline and all that is left is our dwindling international business sector.When the PLP came into power the UBP left debt of $160 million. And now we are more than $1 billion in debt! And this is a Government that uses the slogan “Moving Bermuda Forward”. So Bermuda, do we want the same old UBP with a different name or the same old PLP with the worst record in our entire history? You decide Bermuda!WES TENDSandys
