Petty parking complaint

November 14, 2011Dear Sir,I am sitting here with my jaw hanging open reading the letter “Bad Shopping Experience” by Ms Hines in the November 14 edition of The Royal Gazette. If it weren’t for the fact that Ms Hines states that she has a baby, I certainly would have thought the letter was written by a spoiled ten-year-old.By her own admission, Ms Hines went over her parking limit by one and a half hours. However, she is upset with the Corporation of Hamilton for clamping her car and charging her $100 to release it. She stated early on in her letter that she had an hour and an half before her lunch date, so why the haste that caused her to forget to change the parking code? A crying baby? Come on! She forgot, plain and simple, so why should she get a break? The Corporation has parking limits for a reason, and if they just let people park for whatever length of time they felt like. Then there would be total chaos and one more gripe to add to the long list of things she hates so much about the country she claims to love!Ms Hines, I don’t know you but your letter certainly comes off as petty and childish. Rules and regulations are in place for a reason. It was your mistake and you paid the price for it. That’s what being a grown up is all about!VE JONESDevonshire
