Are they being used?

November 17, 2011

Dear Sir,

I am sorry to write another letter so soon after the last but I want to applaud Pat Ferguson's letter in which she asked Stephen Todd and Vince Ingham to back up their flowery phrases with some cold, hard facts.

Both of these gentlemen have declared themselves as future candidates for the PLP. I, like Pat Ferguson, would like to know why? If they were able to list coherently and accurately exactly what the PLP has accomplished, in positive terms, in 13 years of government, I might view their candidacies with slightly less cynicism.

If they have decided to throw in their lot with the PLP because they believe they can make a real difference in how the PLP operates, they are deluded.

The PLP obviously plans to roll out a few respectable, successful businessmen, designed to bely the retrogressive, uninformed policies the PLP plans to continue to Bermuda's detriment. That part, I understand.

What I don’t understand is why Messrs Todd and Ingham have allowed themselves to be used in such a way. Are they really that naive?
