A way out

April 20, 2012Dear SirWe are in the centre of an economic storm! What is our best way out?We, the public, who have no legal standing but wish to pursue what is in our interest both individually and collectively, must call upon the politicians who represent us to act in our interest, and take the honourable actions that addresses the issues that will determine the effects on each and every individual and this must be done without fear or favour. To avoid an economic calamity, the country needs a comprehensive and transparent agenda for growth. In the best interests of present and future generations, there should be a plan that is supported by all sectors of the political spectrum. We are heading towards an economic and social calamity where all systems could fail and only we as Bermudians with the help of our friends, both local and foreign, can turn these issues from negative to positive, from disaster to opportunity. The time might now be at hand when the only way out is to have a national political bipartisan and public coalition whose mandate it is to address the issues that will restore Bermuda’s economic and social well-being.SIR JOHN SWAN
