Dear Sir,

You never know who knows who. I just finished reading with interest in today’s

Royal Gazette the persons that Premier Craig Cannonier met while attending the inauguration of President Barack Obama. He listed one of them as Isiah Leggett, the County executive. Mr Leggett is actually the County executive for Montgomery County of Maryland, with his residence in Silver Springs, Maryland, being a part of the said county. Mr Leggett is the uncle of my daughters, and the brother to my daughter’s grandmother. We are also Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity brothers. He is originally from Alexandria, Louisiana. Among family and friends he is better known as Ike Leggett.

On another note, when watching the US Presidential inaugural parade, one would have seen the Grambling State University Band from Louisiana in the parade. Grambling State is one of the two Universities (Southern University being the other) that make up the Bayou Classic, that is held every year in the Mercedes Superdome, New Orleans, Louisiana which the now Minister Michael Dunkley criticised the then Premier Dr Ewart Brown for attending. And how coincidental is it, that the Bayou Classic initially started when Mr Isiah (Ike) Leggett was matriculating as an undergraduate student at Southern University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
