Bus strikes don’t help anyone

April 24, 2013Dear SirI am disappointed that the buses have sometimes been on strike over the past couple of years. The main problem with this is that it stops public transport from making money which goes to the government and can help re-pave roads etc. These strikes sometimes last a couple of days and this prevents children from getting to school and adults to their jobs which has a massive affecting business’ income and children’s learning which has a huge effect on the economy of our small Island. The bus strikes affect everyone that can’t afford their own form of transport which is expensive. It even harms the bus drivers as they won’t get paid for the days they miss. Perhaps the solution to the problem could be to pay the bus drivers a honest wage for the work they do and to take into consideration that they have may have a family that they need to feed with their pay cheque. So if Government could make the decision to solve their problem with the bus drivers and the public transport system it could make our Island a better place.A CONCERNED STUDENT
