‘Jetgate’ story was exploited

June 5, 2013

Dear Sir,

I think this whole issue with the politicians flying out on a business trip has been exploited way out of context. The media should be held accountable for inaccurate, assuming and presumptuous methods of reporting. The media must be neutral, accurate, and not biased. Isn’t that supposed to be the code of ethic with reporting on the whole?

This is exactly why Bermuda cannot move forward. When potential international business people hear this sort of talk over the airwaves over and over again, the perception is an Island with political unrest and they simply will not want to conduct business here. The least the media can do is ensure that what is being repeated over and over is accurate. We do not need to lose business and jobs because of grandstanding on the parts of individuals.
