Growing problem of unsightly weeds

Common sight: Overgrown weeds (Photo supplied)

Dear Sir,

They say that “a picture is worth a thousand words”. This picture (above) was taken last week on Parliament Street, within 25 yards of Front Street and a hundred yards of the Cabinet Building.

It clearly depicts the national malaise into which we have fallen. The same scene can be seen on roads and sidewalks throughout the parishes. This weed-entrenched look is one which at one time would have been anathema to Bermudians. It has, however, become the norm.

We must grab these weeds, pull them up and get back to the beautiful, clean and manicured Bermuda that we became world famous for. I am ready to grab my hoe if others are prepared to join me.
