Tourism numbers do not add up

Dear Sir,
According to the front page of the August 29 edition of The Royal Gazette, we read that tourism numbers are well up!
However, page 11 of the paper says that tourism retail sales are 8 per cent off! I don’t get it — must be the “New Math”.
