PLP appears to have resorted to mob rule

Unable to accept election defeat? Leader of the Opposition David Burt

Dear Sir,

David Burt is reported to be extraordinarily concerned about what took place and yet he called for a demonstration.

As the Leader of the Opposition, he should be aware of the normal democratic process where discussion takes place in the House.

It appears that the Progressive Labour Party cannot accept that it lost the election, and has to resort to mob rule.

I am very concerned about the statement attributed to Derrick Burgess, where he states: “You don’t want to mess with us.

“There are people with ammunition; they may come here — that’s what they told me. I tried to calm them down; they will shoot. They will come.” As an MP and a responsible member of the community, I would hope that he, or anyone else who has information on people with guns and ammunition, should inform the appropriate authorities, so that action may be taken to remove such illegal items.

There is a law in place which states it is illegal to own a gun or even a bullet.

Therefore, it is incumbent upon any right-thinking citizen to assist the police by reporting such information.
