Dear Sir,

Not all deaths are because of drink-driving; some are actually owing to careless driving such as yesterday on St John’s Road near North Shore junction.

A woman in a blue, boxy-looking car, overtook at least three cars on a corner and kept going. Where she needed to go in such a hurry we’ll never know, the risk that she could have killed either herself or others around her was high.

Today’s paper (May 10) mentioned that riders should wear full-faced helmets. Riders should just learn to ride more sensibly with any type of helmet, instead of doing wheelies or any other insensible act on the road.
